The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, congratulated Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen on his re-election in writing on the 12th. He said that he believed that under Tsai Ing-wen’s continued leadership, the people of Taiwan will achieve further peace and prosperity.

The Dalai Lama also praised that the people of Taiwan have not only achieved a thriving and powerful democracy, but also made achievements in the fields of economy, education, and preservation of rich traditional culture.

However, the Dalai Lama also pointed out that although the relationship between Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China is equally complicated and difficult, he feels that it is very important to maintain a good relationship between the two, including expanding exchanges between people.

The 84-year-old Dalai Lama also said that the experience of visiting Taiwan three times made him feel happy and gained the opportunity to interact with the people of Taiwan, felt the warm welcome of the people, and continued to be strongly believed by Taiwanese Buddhists Dedicated inspiration.
