Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen said in an exclusive interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that “Taiwan is already an independent country. We call ourselves the Republic of China (Taiwan).”
In response, Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People’s Republic of China, stated in a press release on the 16th, “Taiwan has never been a country, and Taiwan is a sacred and inalienable part of China. Trying to challenge this iron-clad fact can only lead to bloodshed. , Was ruined.”
Ma Xiaoguang also said that he warned the leaders of the DPP authorities not to inflate themselves, misjudge the situation, and further create tension and turbulence across the Taiwan Strait, and bring Taiwan into a dangerous situation.
Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council pointed out earlier that Beijing’s wishful thinking and coercive suppression cannot change the collective will of the Taiwan people to insist on rejecting “one country, two systems.”
The Mainland Affairs Council of Taiwan also emphasized that the outcome of the Taiwan election is a clear signal for the future development of the situation in the Taiwan Strait. The Beijing authorities must know how to respect and face the reality bravely.
